R&P The Hunger Games
At the beginning of the trailer, we are introduced to the main characters. the trailer has a narrative that is linear, meaning that the trailer is portrayed in the same order as the film, with equilibrium at the start, then the even to disrupt that equilibrium, we are then introduced to the princess/victim, the hero then saves saves the victim but in the process, puts their own life in danger. This links in with Todorov's narrative theory, but as it is a trailer, we do not see the final stage where equilibrium is restored. We are also introduced to the helper, who is the partner to the protagonist, of which their fate is unclear from the trailer. this links in with . The trailer uses camera angles to portray the more important characters in the film by using low angle shots, and uses high angle shots to shot the princess, as it makes them look more vulnerable.

R&P Man of Steel Poster Analyis
The man of steel poster shows superman; with the superman's "s" in the centre of his chest obscured, but it is still obious to the audience that the character is supeman man, which is given away by the iconic costume. The poster shows superman flying though the air, which makes it very hard (even for somone who has never seen a superman film before), to mistake the character for somone else.
Anyone familiar with the genre of superman films will know that its an action film, but for those that do not know the films, the poster makes the genre very clear, the facial expression of superman give the impression to the audience that he is determined to achive the goal he has set out to achive, most likely though the use of violence or action. Superman's body position also appears to be ready for a fight, showing the audience that there is likely to be a confrontation in the film.
The unique selling point of the film is the superman franchise, of which is famous around the world. The unique selling point of the film will make the film appeal to fans of the franshise, as well as the those that are fans of action films is general.
The colours in the film poster, are, well, the superman colours, even the city scape behind superman in the poster is tinted blue; one of supermans iconic colours.
In the title at the bottom of the poster, the title is shown ontop of the superman logo, which shows you that its a superman film, if you hadent figured that out allready.
The cityscape in the background is also blurred, making it look like superman is flying fast, which would help the poster appeal to the younger of the target audience.

R&P Pacific Rim trailer analysis.
Pacific Rim, directed by Guillermo del Toro and featuring actors such as Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman. Although most of the cast is derived from actors that have not yet made a name fro themselves in the movie industry, del Toro certainly has with titles such as Hellboy, and the director of Pacific Rim, is one of the unique selling points of the film. Have a well respected director at the helm of such a big Hollywood blockbuster is sure to attract an audience.
The plot of the film from what we can see in the trailer is some kind of alien life from has invaded the earth, but not from space, but from the pacific ocean and humanity has to fight these aliens, so the build giant fighting robots called jaeger's with two pilots to control them in order to save the world from the danger that is the alien invasion. The plot of Pacific Rim conforms perfectly, like most other films to Todorov's narrative theory, there is a disruption of the equilibrium and the character of the film have to try and restore it by defeating the giant aliens. The film is conforms to Propp's narrative theory, the characters controlling the jager's are the hero's, the aliens are the villains and the there are numerous helpers and dispatchers along the way. It is quite uncommon for this much of a story to be given away in the trailer for a film, but since the story is not the main feature of a film like this, i guess it doesn't really matter.
The setting of the film is based around cities that border the pacific ocean, such as Sydney, Australia and San Francisco, USA. The setting in the trailer hops around all different places making it hard for the audience to establish a specific setting for the film. Most of the trailer is set inside Jager workshops and in cities destroyed by the aliens. This change of settings thoughout the trailer helps to make the trailer engaging and also enables the studio to show off their amazing CGI work on the Jager's and the urban areas.
The Pacific Rim trailer features a heavy distorted soundtrack with what sound like a fog horn placed over the top of the music, especially in the beginning of the trailer, with a voice over from one of the character though out the film. The voice over provides a narrative to the audience explaining how and when the crisis started to unfold while the music help to give the trailer a sense of scale. The music also helps the audience engage with the trailer making them want to watch the trailer all the way though and hopefully, make them want to watch the entire film.
The costume design for the character in the film is semi-futuristic as the film is not set that far ahead in the future, by the costume do have a whiff of sci-fi about them. As you would expect, each characters costume is different depending on their role in the film.
The sheer amount of camera angle used in just the trailer of the film really give an impression that the director really wanted the audience to be able to feel the size of the aliens and the Jagers, there are so many different shot that really show just how big the aliens are, especially when they are up against a skyscraper in the city, you can really see that they are, literally, as big as buildings. As the film is something like 80% CGI, the director could really go all out on the camera angles as there were no physical limitations on what the camera angles could be.

R&P Man Of Steel Analysis
Man of Steel; an action film, uses mostly action based footage to appeal to the target audience, rather than using the story line to grab the audience, however for an action film, the action footage used in the trailer was very mediocre and did not appeal to me as a viewer. The music used during the trailer is also very average and anti climactic, compairing the man of steel trailer music to the music used in trailer for pacific rim trailer, makes the man of steel trailer look very average and having a director with experience in other action films makes the trailer even more dissapointed. The visual effects used in the trailer are excellent, it features mostly destruction and fire, common place in action film trailers, however the way the cuts are put together are not as good as they could been and do not stand out as a whole to the viewer, the trailer did not make me want to go and see the film, which is the main purpose of a trailer and in my opinion, the film studio are using the franshicse to their advantage, and judjing by the reviews it got, it seems they have done exactly that.
On the subject of unique selling points of the film, i think that the francisse is the selling point of the film, and not the film itelst
